Nacholicious

The elusive Gravy and I rode out to Eagle to chow down on some nachos and brew Saturday night. The nachos were fantastic, the beer was frothing and cold and the ride back seemed to take only half as long.

We ended up having a nightcap or three while watching the Celtics-Bulls game, where I also pontificated on running vs. hitting a 90 mph fastball. It was intrigueing conversation, to say the least.

Great ride, Gravy. The rest of you are weenies.

This weenie was on the road for 50 miles on Saturday, then had to mow and trim the yard. Sorry I couldn't make it. I'm sure Loup Garou would have come out, but he was busy scraping his bike rack off of his garage door.

Whoa Chief, slow down.

It was originally 80mph... Anyways, I'm still going to say I could bunt your fast balls more times than I could run marathons in one year.

As far as skill goes, endurance is a skill... or is that a feat? Either way, I'd like you to tell all those track stars that all their training is pointless because they already learned how to run when they were kids.

In other nacho-talk... when is the next Looker ride?

"Bunt your fast balls..." If that doesn't sound like a challenge... an awkward one... Then I don't know what awkward challenges are.

Nachos so sound yummy.

I was wanting to join you guys but something precluded me in getting out there.

Next time I say we hammer it out on the road out to Mahoney then head to Eagle. The treats will be well deserved then. hehe

Loup -- what is this I hear about you painting garages with bike racks?

Oh, and thanks for blowing me off as we passed each other on the Rock Island on Sunday morning. I yelled and even pulled off the side of the trail to wait for the obligatory turn-around from you. But noooooo -- must not have passed the "cool test" whilst pulling my Burley.

PS -- "Pulling my Burley" would be a great band name.

Gravy -- we've already covered this. Running is not a sport -- anyone can do it. Some faster than others, yes, but everyone can do it right off the bat or at least by age 2.

Not everyone can hit a fastball. It's really that simple.

Bob K: until you make a nacho ride, you are a weenie in my book.

Chief, bunting your fast balls is not a sport either, it's a recreational activity I think...

Anyways, think of your fast balls as a t-ball analogy... "Some faster than others, yes, but everyone can do it right off the bat."

I will concede: T-ball is not a sport either.

Loup turned around for me and my friend on Sunday. We must have passed the cool test. Or, was it that I yelled, "Stop! Wait!" and he felt obligated to? We'll never know but I choose to believe the former.

Kew - did you have you training wheels on?
Bob - good work. At least you don't hide under a rock and only come out to ride when the 'pansies' are in season.
Gravy Train - Hi!

Adrian -- yeah, I've been slacking on the group rides. Problem is, I'm booked Monday and Tuesday nights so when Wednesday rolls around, it's time to have a night at home with the wife/son.

Hopefully I can get out one of these Wednesdays.
