They Have Pie!!!
Gravy, Kew, and I headed out into a 20-30 mph headwind on Sunday afternoon for some miles. After stopping to catch our breath at the Roca turnoff, we decided to bite the bullet and headed out to Cortland. We stopped at the new bar and grill in Cortland for some lunch, but they were only offering an all-you-can-eat buffet. However, in a cooler against the wall - they had PIE!! Fresh, homemade, served warm with some ice cream, the perfect mid-ride treat. This will need to be a regular stop from now on. After the pie stop, we headed back to Lincoln with a nice tailwind, which resulted in 40+ mph speeds down the hills. Good fun, and a nice reward for braving the headwinds on the way out.
Here is a pic from the end of the ride, I can't figure out if they are trying to get me to pull through, or if they are doing their best Preakness imitation.

Thanks guys for pulling me out there. The ride back was great -- but the ride out... that was work for me.
Yeehaw! Go, go, go!
Oh -- full disclosure: At the end of the ride, I fell over clipped in out front of my house while talking to Gravy.
That hasn't happened in a long time -- guess I was due for a moron moment.
Nice - blame it on the wind.
